Think Positive
Think Positive
At dinner, my sister told us about her bad dream one night, and she felt bad ever since. She was worried as her dream seemed to be real. The other grown up members of orang rumah cheered her up, including me. We told us it might be just a simple dream, bunga tidur as we call it…and other cheery words that we could say to her.
Before she even responded to our comments and all, she left us for a phone call from her friend, and then they chatted, which I suppose she told her friend also about her feeling.
On the table, my 9-year old nephew, Haykel, said to me.
“Ti, once after I watched tv show Kiamat Sudah Dekat, I had a bad dream also, like Mom…then I could not stop thinking about it. I was scared and worried for days. But then…I thought about the good things that I would experience, such as getting PS 2 for my birthday…or getting Reed’s hand (Mr. Fantastic figure) and other good toys…then puff, I was happy again”
God…I never thought it was a good words of wisdom ….from a 10-year old! We, grown ups, tend to think about the resolution of every problem we have. The strategy that we should apply to problems. Haykel’s words make me realize that not all problems need to be solved. Sometimes we just have to live with it or just think positive out of negative matter we experience.
Ah, so sweet and mature of him. He knows how to reduce stress. When my sister ended the call, I made him told her mom what he had told me. My sister smiled happily. I guess he was right after all…
Keep wisdom-ing, Haykel ![]()
